- accommodation in a cosy traditional British cottage in Bournemouth, a two-hour drive from London
During the intensive participants will improve their English skills, gain valuable interview skills to enter a British independent school at senior or sixth form level and university and get clarity on professional paths.
“During my time at Winchester College I realised that whilst many candidates and pupils were predicted a string of top grades (often maths, science and language orientated), they were possibly failing interview because they had no knowledge or interest in global affairs”, says Kirstie Richards, former Deputy Registrar at Winchester College and co-ordinator of the Bruton Lloyd tuition programme in Dorset.
Together with her husband David, a Law graduate from Cambridge, who has taught Law at Winchester College Kirstie decided to offer a customised curriculum to help pupils enhance their interview chances.
“Our tailored tuition and mentoring programme offers 11-18 year old pupils and students an excellent preparation for entry into independent British schools and leading universities. It is a chance for them to improve their academic English and interview skills and explore topics such as History, Law, Politics and International Relationships”, says Kirstie Richards (MSc International Relations, King’s College London)

Success Stories
- An overseas sixth form candidate has been mentored by Kirstie Richards, the coordinator of our Dorset intensive and former deputy registrar of 10 years at Winchester College. As a result of this work, the student has received offers from the renowned Charterhouse and Canfield Schools.
- After an initial academic assessment and an individual strengths and weaknesses analysis, our educational expert Kirstie Richards has helped two schoolgirls to increase their confidence through interview practice and improve their essay writing and presentation skills. Supplementary academic subject tuition took place at our tuition centre in Mayfair, London. As a result, both girls have received offers from Highgate and KCS Wimbledon.
- In preparation for his upcoming application for a law degree, a schoolboy, who had previously stayed at our Norfolk Tuition Centre has returned to England for two weeks for a tailored tuition and mentoring programme and a complete cultural and linguistic immersion tailored to his interests surrounding Maritime Law. He would spend his morningsenjoying individual English tuition and his afternoons visiting Maritime Museums and exploring various historical sights (Hurst Castle, Osborne House on Isle of Wight – Queen Victoria’s and Prince Albert’s holiday residence). He also undertook a two day mini-pupilage at Bournemouth Crown Court and a whole day trip to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. The boy has enjoyed his stays so much that he decided to return this summer for the third time and we suggested a change of scenery with a return to Norfolk.
